Hi Mooakite. Sorry to hear you've been made to feel unimportant by those particular consultants ; it shouldn't happen.

Maybe speak with your GP and ask for an urgent referral to an alternative specialist. Gps aren't generally clued up on brain injury, but they have a duty of care to provide access to someone who is.

Alternatively, you could try PALS (Patient Advice & Liaison Service). You'll find the contact number by Googling PALS and then entering your post code.

When my daughter-in-law was brushed aside by her GP, PALS stepped in, resulting in a diagnosis by a hospital specialist and surgery for a serious health condition, all within 2 weeks. . .

If you need further advice/support, please phone the Headway helpline on freephone 0808 800 2244 during office hours,

Let us know how you get on. Good luck . . .

Cat..

I’ll second getting in touch with PALS. They were really good when I needed them to help me and within days of contacting them I was seen.

Unfortunately sometimes you have to make a nuisance of yourself to be heard- keep going until you get to see someone who cares & understands.

Thanks I didn't thinking of contacting PALS. That's really helpful. I had a hemiplegic migraine a few months ago which has left me with right sided hemiplegia, memory problems and unstable epilepsy. This was diagnosed by a consultant. I was referred to neurology after been discharged from hospital for further test. The new neurologist dismissed all the diagnosis from other consultants. They don't work together it's so frustrating and confusing.

Hello, I don't know your back ground but I think cat is right ask your GP to help you. I know it can be difficult to get a appointment.I understand how hard it is to get what you're entitled to. I've not worked for 7? Years because of my health problems and it was just last week the DWP decided I'm not safe to work. I'm a danger to myself and others 😆 🤣

Anyway I just wanted you to know your not the only one having the problems and it will get sorted. But please correct your GP
