Describing my Headache

Since my TBI 5 months ago I have just figured out what my headache feels like. I have struggled to describe it to my loved ones and consultants but Eating Fizzy sherbert is how it feels (but a painful version). This is everyday even with my pain medication. Has anyone had this and does it end?

Hi ShareeRose, yes that’s a very good description, I get that when I have to bend down or sneeze, or anything else that causes pressure. When I sneeze it’s not a gentle little ladylike sneeze it’s full on head blowing followed by this almighty pain , I never used to be a swearer but since my bleed i think I’ve developed Tourette’s because I swear an awful lot and sneezing is one of those times. I am seven years post bleed, some things have improved but these although maybe a little less intense continue unfortunately. Sorry it’s not better news but every one is different, lots of luck love Alice xx

Yea, fizzy sherbet is a very good description. I have found that it seems to ease if I get continued good sleep over a few weeks. Melatonin has been very helpful for sleep improvement along with apigenin (chamomile) and valerian.

When sleep goes awry though, the fizz monster returns. I think it's an inflammatory response but I'm not a medic so don't take that as necessarily accurate.
