My husband had a TBI 3 years ago he had a eye test last year optician referred him to the hospital has he had blacking behind his right eye , fast forward to two weeks ago we went to the hospital and has been told he has the start of glaucoma we have another appointment in 2 weeks to another hospital this is just one problem he occured since his fall down the stairs causing his tbi. I feel like I don’t know where to turn he’s awaiting a nose op it’s so heartbreaking I’m trying to be strong for him as I am his 24hr carer . Just wondering has anyone developed glaucoma after a tbi and what do I expect

Hi

Both my parents have glaucoma and it has been monitored and controlled for many years and I would just like to say it hasn’t affected their qualities of life. I have not heard of getting glaucoma after a TBI but I just wanted to reassure that it’s easily controllable.

Hi, this may be just normal glaucoma because it's just starting and is three years after the TBI. It's a common condition and can be treated/ managed.
