I read a post in here over a year ago in which someone commented that they just walk past post-it notes (used as memory prompts).
It was the first post I read on this forum. I knew straight away that I was in the right place.
Since then I've read threads about behavioural optometry.
Is that what is needed to help the post-it note syndrome?
I ask as just by chance I saw a glass lying on the floor a couple of weeks ago. Going by the dust on it I'd say it had been there a couple of weeks, unnoticed by me. I picked it up & put it in the kitchen.
The next day I had one of the wobbly moments and took a fall. If I hadn't seen the glass the day before I'd have fallen right on top of it.
There are loads of other times this vision thing has caused problems. I live on my own with no involvement from psychiatrist anymore.
Thanks in advance.

That may not be the same thing Seamus. Have you been to a neuropsychologist, it sounds like an inability to store and retrieve information, but I don't really know. I had these kind of events which was diagnosed as the inability to store and retrieve info.
By that time I had started optometry but it did not do anything for my ability to store and recall events.
hi seamus .. you sound like you are describing two different things … if it’s your sight that has altered I would get it checked out and if it’s your memory recall ( it could be both ) again that would also benefit from OT /cognitive help .. or a neurologist appointment to talk it though .. for me it’s the short term memory which I am now going private to see a neurologist for that and my muscle weakness .. unsure what will change but some clarity would make a huge difference .. keep going with the post it notes and diaries plus alarms our a part of me know and it very much does help when your brain has gone into early retirement 🤪. …Sue 😁
Hi. As others have said (and they told me!) this sounds like two issues. I've just started seeing a neurophysio privately and she's given me some exercises to help with dizziness - calls it BPPV. Basically a type of vertigo that can come on suddenly.
You are definitely in the right place with the post-its. I have about two seconds after I remember something to write it down on a post-it note, else it's gone, so heaven help anyone who tries to distract me, or move my piles (yes, piles) of post-it notes and things left out around the sofa for me to remember!
yes had Epley done twice and it does work .. still comes back but I actually to to my selfish it’s not really bad when I have done it so it does settle down again ..Sue 😊
