We're talking 30 odd years ago now ! It was a Children's home ; sadly not in existence now. I just remember a river and stunning scenery .....maybe more built up these days ? It was night work so I could be back home before the school run next morning. x

Yes not there now, and still very stunning scenery, they’ve reopened the canal systems in Stalybridge, so hold our breath when they talk of flooding, although looks nice, when the yobs don’t put trolleys in there etc, surrounded by the moores very pictures. We moved to a Manchester overspill estate in the 60s and apart from the moors murders, count my blessings for such a beautiful place, but I am still and always will be a Mancunian. Xx

Such a shame how a beautiful area was tainted by the evil Hindley & Brady (don't normally resort to the word 'evil' but, in their case.....

I've taken many a long hike up & down the glorious Peak District, and in all weathers. x😉
