Fatigue

I was diagnosed with a moderate severe brain injury following a serious cycling accident over six years ago. I recovered really well and only knew about the brain injury following a further scan last year. I function fine generally and you wouldn't really know without knowing me well that anything had changed. I have been working full time since the accident. I had a period of five months off last year as just got to a point where I couldn't manage my emotions. I have been struggling with fatigue it seems more and more lately. I have noticed this in the afternoon particularly when I'm driving in the afternoons. There's times when it worries me as I really have to put every effort in to keep my concentration. I don't know whether there's other things going on or whether I can do anything dietary wise. I just wondered what other folks experience has been like.

Hi, I still have a lot of fatigue and I am much more emotional. Yesterday was a stressful day at work which increased my tinnitus so had such a horrible night, I am calling in sick today as feel terrible, it all juys adds to the fatigue I already feel. Had an Occy health app this week which reassured me I’m doing well, she wrote a good report stating I come under the disability umbrella now which made me feel better about it all.

Hello, I had a concussion four and a half years ago and am still struggling. Though I have had good periods where I was able to walk again properly, I am currently going through a setback in which a two-mile walk leaves wipes me out for the rest of the day (lack of concentration, fatigue, struggling with coordination in my arms). Mornings are tricky as well as it takes several hours for symptoms to settle. I often feel that my emotional resilience disappears out of the window when I'm symptomatic. At the moment I can only work a few hours in the morning and feel drained in the afternoon. I have, however, had better periods and am trying to improve my ability to walk again as it tends to improve my overall wellbeing. I hope your symptoms will improve again in the not too distant future. Take care.
