Acquired Brain Injury Bill reception in Parliament. Meet your MP there.

On the heels of Chris Bryant's Knighthood, he brought the ABI Bill to parliament which was passed. Over the last year the consultation period has been done. There is a reception in parliament on the 1st of February where you, yes you reading this, can meet your MP there, you first need to go through a simple process to invite your MP. Here's a link to the UKABIf newsletter, click on the Acquired brain injury bill reception link and this should bring you to the page, just follow the instructions if you are interested.

The aim of this I imagine, is to get you to influence your MP in potential up coming votes on the changes that should take place this year.

If you want a decent system with a good diagnostics, rehabilitation package and care package then you know what to do.

Another option is to directly contact your MP and ask them to support the process.

Is this subjecting a person with a TBI could attend the meeting in parliament or just send a letter asking your mp to attend it?

I emailed my MP using the letter template available in the link. They have my address, but no reply yet.

Hopefully they can offer me transportation down to London, or at least put it on their expenses 😉👌🤣😂

not something I’ve asked but then I’m a direct train ride away, more concerned with finding my way around parliament and that sort of organising which I suck at!

This assumes it goes ahead and all that!

Can you DM me if you get any details please. I’ve emailed both my mp and the email address asking you to confirm attendance, but know reply from either.

will do I suspect nothing will happen for ages! Frustrating as I like to know what I’m expecting so I know how to deal with it.

Just to let you know that due to strike action from multiple unions including those representing teachers and civil servants, a decision has been made to postpone the Acquired Brain Injury Reception on Wednesday 1st February to Wednesday 10th May from 1pm to 4pm in the Jubilee Room in Parliament.
