Hi Bladerunner & welcome ! Mine was a frontal lobe bleed in 2011 and the after-effects have been poor balance, emotional issues including frequent loss of temper, and ever increasing memory issues. I clearly recall my childhood and most events up until the brain injury, but the past 11 years are patchy and, when speaking, my word recall is often a struggle.

I rely on reminders in black marker on my dressing table mirror for appointments, birthdays and other stuff, which I clean off with acetone once they've elapsed. It can be frustrating constantly mislaying things such as car keys, phone etc.....etc !

What are your main day to day issues m'love ? x

Keep talking with us here 'til you can get therapy for better managing your anger. It can be reassuring knowing we're not alone with post Bi struggles. Some of us have learned coping methods to diffuse the anger, from trial & error, whilst others have undergone Behavioural Therapy with good results.

Do get professional help m'love. There's help to be had but, with present staff shortages and strikes, the sooner you get a referral from your GP the better. Even if there's a long wait for an appointment there's comfort in knowing you're moving up the list.

And yes, the fatigue is a constant uphill struggle, especially if (like me) you disobey the crucial rule of pacing yourself ! It's a constant (& massive) learning curve !

Stay in touch.... Cat x

Hey there Bladerunner, I can tell you that I myself in 2008 had an injury where the back of my head hit the concrete floor. As a result the scans show that I have very little left of my frontal lobes... X

danaged frontal lobe n 2000, spent month in induced coma. Partially sighted and long term benefits. Had to relearn so many things other than the obvious!! No concentration, emotions, desire or motivation!! Spent 16 months of late either caring for my carer?! Mum with alximers/ dementia. Forced myself to get on train on end to visit her in hospital after spending all months benefits on cabs back n forth!! My brother did the weekend visits to give me a rest. Other bro/sis only attended on night she died?!!!! Bro. Is now my carer, didn’t cry for her or my father 3 years earlier. Have lost friends/ hubby because of changes in my character too. Now only friends are people I have coffe with or art class. Had counciling but was useless. My tbi was hard to accept but now am glad of it!! If capable of emotion am sure would have topped myself many years back!! Merry Xmas anyhow!!

I too had a brain I jury due to a car accident with frontal lobe damage. My accident was in 2008, and I am subsequently still dealing with the damage now. Although it seemed I made a "good recovery" considering, my symptoms have some how managed to creep back on me over the last 5 years.
