I know one of he's patients, he wrongly diagnosed and treated them for 6 years for a condition they never had. I also have a medical negligence claim going on now, and mine also involves a neurologist in this country. I am now paralysed from the waist down and slowly but surely it will be from the neck down. Although there are some good medical professionals within the NHS, there are some incredibly uneducated people working there .

It really ought to be unfathomable- unfortunately it's not.

I do understand it us unfortunately all too common - I sought help from some who I felt were malicious rather than simply unhelpful - you can't get complaints here taken at all seriously.

One malicious twit gone, anyway. ( I don't think anyone is that bad by accident - though maybe I'm wrong.)

Let's hope some reform will blossom soon.

I've read so many posts on here where people find neurologists arrogant and obnoxious, that seemed to be this guy's modus operandi.

The one I saw here about 14 years ago was a total twat with a nasty attitude.

I have run into a few people who have seen one who has more recent training, and he is evidentally totally onside with the functional, bottom up, view.

Maybe he'll be able to build some sort of team here eventually. As it sits he doesn't really have anyone to refer to, but at least he can give people a credible diagnosis.

I read on the Australian website about the handful of professional categories you need on your team to recover. I had one. Now down to zero.

Hoping you get around to writing more on your self help / self directed journey, PV. I am all ears. ( I have been following my nose , but don't have the research chops you do.)

Yes, that's what you do and I have done it. Then you try to find someone else the phrase to use here if some asks is just to say 'not helpful' if asked, and leave it at that.

(Where I live there is a shortage of doctors - I haven't had a family doctor for about 10 years . How it works here is there are walk in clinics, so you phone in at opening time and hope they have a spot - you get no choice about who you see . So, if you get someone cooperative you have no way of seeing them again, and there is no way to build a relationship. They don't get much trading on bi and don't understand the medication sensitivities.

So, seeing a doc for anything is a high stress exercise.

I am in Canada, not the UK.)
