Hello I haven't posted for a good while .I had my grade 5 brain haemorrhage 2 years ago this week it's been a very difficult 2 years all I keep asking is when will I be back to normal ? Whatever normal is ? I've battled terrible with my mental health I'm now under a phycologist who is supporting me My problem physically is I've got virtigo constantly is anyone else suffering the same thing after a brain injury ? My doctor advised me not to go on the medication for it due to the side affects but it's getting worse it's affecting me every day now even to the point where I was walking down the stairs and the next thing I remember is being at the bottom of the stairs luckily I only had a few bruises !I would be grateful to hear if anyone else as this problem and how they deal with it .Thank you

Hi Gym1bunny. Try to get a referral to see a vestibular therapist.

Another option if your NHS authority do not have this service is vision therapy through a neuro-optometrist, this is private not nhs. Try John Glover in Stockport.

As PinkVison says vestibular therapy would be your first call, did you have a assessment after?

I had assessments which took a month or so with full days at the hospital having all sorts of weird and wonderful things being done/asked of me.

And from then had vestibular rehabilitation, which in both cases means I know exactly where I’m damaged or not.

Equally why some floors or situations cause my vestibular system to flip out and go all spinning or worse.
