Can relate to this. Though I'm a lot better off than most, not so much pain. I always do my best to get on with life and never think myself unlucky.
Fair comment Andy. People with chronic illness are doubly affected by this pandemic. Doctors & medical staff are less accessible due to unprecedented demands or practice closures, and 'none urgent' cases are being put on hold indefinitely. So people with chronic illness, already at higher risk, will be compromised.
A 94 year old relative of ours has advanced dementia. She's desperate to avoid residential care but her carers quit this week as they've both been advised they're at high risk. There's 70 miles between her and us, so looks like a grim outcome.
On the business side of things, since an infection scare, my daughter's company decided to provide everyone with laptops so they can work more safely at home. Trouble is, there aren't enough laptops available as they've become another 'scarce commodity' just like hand gel and toilet rolls !
So its a spiralling crisis which isn't going away any time soon. The knock-on effects are already causing chaos and it's still very early days. Who was it that said "Stop the world I want to get off" ? 🤔 x
