Hey Elenor ; I can't remember whereabouts you are, but here in the North West it's been fair and bright. In fact I was gardening 'til after dark today (thanks to outside light) and, despite backache, very satisfied with so many jobs done in time for green bin collection early tomorrow.

I love New years day 'cause it means I can bin the old calendar and start looking for signs of Spring. The only upside of global warming is the crocuses/daffodils & forget me nots have been appearing earlier year on year. My Mahonia which used to flower in Spring has been flowering since before Christmas....
