Hi I wrote last week about a medical for PIP that all went wrong. Well yesterday I went for the DWP sick medical (I forgot the actual name) and it went well. I have light sensitivity that causes a meltdown if I am exposed to LED lights for a period of time. When I got to the assessment centre I registered and was told there was a room to wait in where the lighting is turned off, BIG TICK DWP.
I was then assessed in a room with the lights off and blinds over the window blocking out the sunlight, BIG TICK DWP.
The assessment went well, I think, the assessor was not a robot and spoke like a human being. I only had a few memory lapses where we had to retrace the conversation. Anyway we got through it and everything got covered and after I asked about the questioning etc and what areas were being covered (the last assessment I had gave me zero points and did not mention the BI at all). The assessor said that there were no boxes to fill in regarding BI and the DWP would probably award zero points again. Then she said if you don't get the sick element make sure you go to the CAB and get help to appeal so the BI reports from the NHS can be considered.
Hi Pink. I've had loads of help with appeals from CAB and local authority Welfare Rights in the past but, where I live, they've both been stripped of premises and advisors, so virtually none existent.
I hope yours is still up & running ; they were once a force to be reckoned with nationwide. Our Welfare Rights office is now an M&S store and the purpose built CAB building is empty.
I would suggest that was your fitness for work interview, the CAB's closing down is part of the con as they are in the pocket of government. Why are they shutting when there are hundreds of millions of pounds of lottery funding sitting there unused?

Ok, I think that because they wrote both of the applications for 'fit to work' and PIP then I'm already in the system, I hope. They did follow up on the PIP assessment a month ago and I explained that the assessment had been cancelled and I was waiting for another one, (that one got cancelled too and I'm waiting for a home assessment)
Are the CAB funded centrally or are they regional, ie England, Scotland, Wales through the devolved government system. There are some big differences where certain services and funding etc.
