Post Concussion Syndrome Help

Hi, I am new to this, I hit my head playing sport just under 2 years ago. This resulted in post concussion syndrome, whiplash symptoms, and I was later diagnosed with a micro bleed in the frontal lobe. I have symptoms such as: feeling like I am in a dream constantly (nothing looks or feels real), fatigue, migraines, concentration problems, dizziness, visual difficulties, difficulty focusing etc… I had to take about a year off work (I am a researcher so find it difficult to think) and have been working part-time since. I feel I have made progress in comparison to when I first obtained the injury, but things seem to have plateaued and I still struggle with my symptoms. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of things that I could do that may help? Or if there are any suggestions of people I can see that may be able to help? Thanks!

i have a frontal lobe bi due to a stroke 71/2 years ago.......noise intolerance, inappropriate behaviour and language, mood swings, hate crowds and strangers, sweet one minute, want to rip your face off the next.

i hated the dizzies, because i never knew when they were going to happen, 1 minute fine the next the 80s record........you spin me right round.....when it stopped that was me for at least 4 hours.......bed and sleep, that was after id been sick.

i was diagnosed with having adhd, epilepsy, organic personality disorder ( which i described earlier and something else but i suffer short ter memory too, oh happy days hahaha ). for the opd the psychiatrist said there isnt reall anything he can give me.

look up fatigue and it will tell you what you should be doing and your working pattern, although i dont think youll be too impressed.

I think you could benefit from a neuropsychological assessment if you are still symptomatic two years since your initial injury.

My husbands problems was diagnosed as a moderate brain injury after he had an assessment. Really helped to clear things up for him.

Your GP should be able to help via a referral. You may find however you do not have neuropsychological on the nhs in your region, but then headway should be able to help you locate one.

Hi Lozza

Welcome to the PCS club. Symptoms are basically the same. Have you had a neuro-psychology assessment yet? This is important and will point out your deficits and also your strengths and will give you a platform to address your issues. You'll find that the UK medical establishment do not recognise visual issues as part of brain injury in a serious manner.

You will need to find a way to view your situation in a manner that makes sense to you.

I've managed to educate myself and build up a picture of how to approach finding a balance and improve dramatically my situation. There's quite a lot to it, so if you are interested let me know and we can get started.

Cheers

Hi, Following advice from a fellow PCs sufferer I put scepticism to one side (I was desperate) Went to planet organic and got the following which I swear have made the biggest difference particularly to the dizziness; Kiki CBD oil 5% (2 drops under tongue morn and night) , mushrooms 4 life Lions mane capsules (3 x a day), and wild nutrition magnesium. Not cheap but A godsend. If you have a planet organic nearby you can always talk with the Staff member who runs their supplements and they will explain the brain healing/calming properties.

Good luck!
