ADEM

My daughter has been diagnosed with ADEM, she’s been in hospital for 9 weeks, she has made huge progress after having PLEX for 5 days. We are waiting for a place in rehab, approximately another 4/5 week wait. I know it’s rare but I just wondered if there is anyone in here who has had it or knows someone who has.

I hadn't heard of ADEM 'til now Bev, but I understand a little more after reading up on the condition and learning about the plasma procedure and its success rate. I like to think that someone will come along with actual experience...…... though I've never heard it mentioned here.

Hi, I just came across this site. I was diagnosed with having ADEM in March 2016 and was in hospital for about 3 months in total. Ive recovered but have bladder and bowel issues, which are managed. Im in my late 30s and my treatment was a bit trial and error as they weren’t sure what was wrong with me at first but I was on course of steroids.
