I’m sorry to read this. Until I had my aneurysm diagnoses I never gave them a thought. My first procedure I met a lot of people having theirs clipped. Mine was too big and in a bad place so had to go through the groin to be coiled etc. Then three months later had to have another procedure to have a second stent put in . Really suffering after that one and as it was such a rare procedure I too thought I would have had a follow up appointment well before December but no 13th December for mine . I think the hospital is so busy and I’m still alive (risk was huge) which has in turn a waiting game for follow ups .
Although I don’t like my new self , I have stopped worrying about silly things but it’s a learning curve for all my family who live with me . I wish you happier days and help when you go to the appointment.

I remember too well how isolating it felt being discharged after 2 months of cosseting in hospital, with no one to turn to apart from a 3 month follow up appointment and a clueless GP. After 12 months I had to pester my GP (who assumed that discharge after a brain bleed means the patient is 'obviously better') ...….for a referral back to the neurology team owing to the onset of hormone disturbances.
It was another 12 months before I got to see a consultant & had the relevant tests and I now have a follow up appointment every 12 months...……..things move SO slowly, though that might be deliberate as brain injury rehab/progress is invariably a long, drawn out affair often needing 2 to 3 years of healing and adjustment.
Have you talked to Headway via the helpline (0800 800 2244) and asked for printouts giving the facts regarding after-effects and coping strategies ? If not m'dear I'd recommend you do so. Wishing you both courage, and better days ahead. Cat x
Holy cow ! Our wait is 2 months and im frustrated with that. Apparently theres a need out there....
Hi Tgirl79
If you want to be seen earlier, you can contact the consultants secretary and see if they hold a private clinic. This does mean you have to oay for the application but it’s worth the £150 if you are feeling really anxious. I did this as wanted the go ahead to fly.
