Mum was making progress since having her Chunt fitted but the last couple of days has had seizures although it has not been confirmed yet still waiting for the blood results. Has anyone suffered seizures after a brain haemorrhage and Chunt fitted.

Seizures are something we hear of all too often after brain injury and/or intervention. It's upsetting and worrying for both the patient and for loved ones, and I'm sure you'll have extra concerns owing to your mum's age. But once the compatible meds are found your mum's progress should hopefully pick up again.
The whole business of fixing 'leaks' in our brains is straightforward for the brilliant surgeons, but then it's up to ourselves to cope with the after effects. Your mum has come through the critical stage, and she has every chance of coming through this unfortunate issue with the love and care or yourself and the nursing staff/doctors.
Pulling through a brain injury is a long, drawn out process, more so for relatives ; my family went to hell and back..................whilst I was blissfully unaware and remember nothing. So it's hard to see improvements when they're so slight but, once the seizures are controlled and more time has elapsed, I truly hope you'll be looking back with relief.
All best wishes to you and your mum. Cat x
I had a subarachnoid haemorrhage in 2005. I had 7 coils in the aneurysm and have memory and cognitive problem since. I was also left with seizures which were scary for my close ones.... I do not remember! It has taken a good long time to get the right combination of medication to control the seizures and I am currently reducing one of my combined medications. I empathise with your Mum but can safely say that although it has taken awhile it does get better. I wish you and your family well x
Only a deep subarachnoid hemorrhage (2002), seizures started 2004 and the first medication after increased dosage stabalised and stops seizures.
I can forget my medication and I feel panicky before the onset but then, due to my meds it'll only be a focal aware seizures. For me no big deal, in fact I smile when someone is concerned about that and not my TBI.
Consultants having trouble finding correct chant pressure for mum it is now set at 50 don’t know what they will do if this does not work, she is still sleeping and when awake, no focus. Getting very frustrated with all this. Has anyone else fitted with a chunt had any problems like this
