Today is the start of Action for Brain Injury Week, and this year we're raising awareness of the ripple effect a brain injury can have on not just the survivor, but also their partners, family, friends, colleagues and more.

Charity study highlights the power of positive relationships

We've released the results of our big survey into relationships after brain injury. The study found that:

- 69% of brain injury survivors reported breakdowns in their friendships after brain injury.

- 65% and 55% of partners and family members respectively also reported friendship breakdowns.

But there's also positive news for many, who reported a strengthening of key relationships.

Read the results on our website: headway.org.uk/news/nationa...

(And a BIG thanks to everyone who took part!)

Headway's very own Spotify playlist!

We're also launching our new Life After Brain Injury playlist on Spotify, compiled from the songs that mean the most to you in the context of life after brain injury.

You can find out more and listen to the first 12 songs at: headway.org.uk/news/nationa...

Don't forget to follow the playlist as we'll be adding more of your choices over the coming weeks!

Hats for Headway Day

It's Hats for Headway Day on Friday, and we need your help to make it the biggest ever! Simply wear a hat for the day, donate £1 to Headway and share a photo using #HatsForHeadway

Taking place the day before the royal wedding, many people are choosing to don their crowns and tiaras for #HatsForHarryDay, but whatever you choose it's a great way to have fun while helping us to continue our work.

There's also a prize of an afternoon tea for two at The Dorchester Hotel in London for the best hat photo!

Get involved

There are lots of other ways to get involved, so head to the main campaign website at abiweek.org.uk to find out how.

Thank you so much for all of your support, we'd really welcome your feedback and we hope this week will help to raise awareness of the realities of life after brain injury.

Best wishes,

Headway
