Anyone experience sickness if dehydrated post TBI?

Hi all, just wondering if anyone experiences head fuzz/ grogginess (particularly around TBI area), nausea and even vomiting if you don't remain hydrated?

My husband is five years post AVM bleed (obliterated) and occasionally experiences these symptoms if he's not had enough fluids over a period of hours. He's epileptic (controlled) and normally very good with his water intake but if he gets side-tracked, as we all do, it seems to affect him badly.

Anybody else experience this?

.x.

Is he actually de hydrated? shouldn't really get that de hydrated, most people get enough from there food. It sounds like this should be explored by GP/Consultant or who ever?

i'm a bit sensitive to lack of food now, if I don't eat regularly I feel exhausted, where as before I could run on a cup of coffee for days with out issue! but doesn't make me ill just very tired and bit more floaty than normal.

Thanks Roger. It does seem to be water ot food... it's just such a strange and severe reaction. Seeing GP this evening... will see what they say.

It’s so important to keep hydrated as the body needs more fluid than food. Still, we all need eat to keep ourselves physical strong. So try to monitor the fluid by filling a water bottle every morning, and insist that he drinks it all then repeat for the afternoon and also evening. It will also show you both how much liquid is been taken. Hope it helps Liz x
