My son has damage to the frontal lobe following accident as a child, he is now 30. Has got himself into a bit of bother and so frustrated with the lack of support and understanding!

Hey Kathy, my son too (only he's 32). Feeling that one about the lack of understanding and support. Don't know what I can do (if anything) but am happy to talk or listen if you want. Take care and have a good day.

kathyrose1968 weve, but as i got a get out of jail card. find out if theres a headways day centre near you, when you get the card, now im not 100% sure here, but i think you can take that to the police station and theyll issue you with one of theres, but as i say i have memory probs, but im sure thats what what a friend of mine was saying because he kept getting himself into a bit of bother.

kathyrose i suffer from an abi due to a stroke 51/2 years ago, i suffered from aggression ( not to my wife ) and mood swings, she took me to the gp who referred me to the psychiatrist.

my aggression is under control, although i still have my momements.

not sure if youre finding this with your son, but im noise intollerant, hate crowds, rude, so my wife tell me, because we have no filters and use inapropriate behaviour and language both inside and outside the house.

Hi Steve that does sound like my son also, we are awaiting a psychiatrist assessment . We only had the diagnosis in the last few years and as you no doubt know nothing happens quickly

kathyrose from my gp referral to seeing a psychiatrist took 6 weeks, my wife broke down and said she couldnt cope with me any longer, the referal from the psychiatrst to the neuropsychiatrist took 21/2 years.

Seems to be the same all round lack of support and a fight to get any type of help, so unfair isn't it

I'm a similar age and feel the same way as your son. Seems like we're meant to grow up and become normal adults despite our BIs as kids.

Do you get any support?
