A bit better thanks now I'm on the epilepsy meds -just need the dosage adjusting a bit but I think it prob takes a while to get that sorted but doc phoning me tomorrow.Still waiting for EEG n another MRI.
Yes, I am still getting out and about. I love being able to do that now cos there was a time where I didn't. I stayed in doors all the time and lost a lot of confidence and motivation.
Now, I am usually out twice or three times a week! It's enough for me though, some people are out all day, every day. I couldn't cope with that.
On Thursday I went to London with my mum, brother and a friend. We saw Mrs. Brown's boys live at the O2 arena :).
"That's nice"... Were you mimmicking Mrs. Brown just then haha.
She says it in a more sarcastic way though :).
I have been to London quite a few times now. It started off with my mum and bro going there a lot of the time, just them, to go see different shows at the theatre and do some shopping.
I never used to go with them because I wasn't very confident in getting out and about back then and practically hated going out.
Now is a bit different though. I wouldn't say I now love going out and about but I do love going out and not caring what others may be thinking of me and so on.
There is a saying I saw not long ago that I liked "What people might think of me is none of my business".
In theory it is none of their business either but I like it anyhow :).
I always used to fear that every time I step out the door, strangers would be watching me like a hawk mainly cos of the way I look.
Just tell yourself "People are weird, get over it". Noone is above you.
Yeah I was trying to do a Mrs Brown 'thats nice' but you're right hers would be sarcasm so I got that bit wrong.!
Why be thinking what others are thinking when you're lucky to be able to think at all.We all are. After all we've been through -others haven't a clue whatever or no matter what we look like what we have to go through with courage on a daily basis-the invisible illness on top of that. People are so ignorant theyre so selfish and you just have to look straight past those sort of people.
Yeah most of em are actually above me though I'm only 5 foot 1 1/2 lol xx
I was thinking, if you were doing the sarcastic remark Mrs. Brown makes then that means my trip to London was not nice at all haha.
Thankfully the sarcastic part was not added, I hope :).
I used to think about what others thought of me back in the days where I virtually had no confidence. I did quite a bit of worrying back then actually.
You're right in what you say though, they haven't got a clue, they haven't been through the horrible things I have had to endure.
It kind of makes me feel sorry for ignorant people like that, they have no idea.
Well they may be above you in height but never are they above you as a person :).
No I wasn't being sarcastic Matt its not in me at all.Its more in me to be naïve and just say it how it is then realise after oh yes she means it sarcastic-more so now after my injury-I laugh at myself sometimes where somebody might give me an odd look!!I feel sometimes like my brain behaves like a child in terms of thinking age-strange isn't it?
Don't think I've seen one of those before Matt. What a handsome looking fellow/dame and an excellent depiction of him/her by a talented, yet to be discovered, artist !!
Rockhopper penguins are very similar to macaroni penguins except their bill is slightly different.
That's right, one of them will cost you extra :)... I'm here all night... Joking.
I am getting closer to selling my work and getting my name out there.
Last year I did a drawing. I showed it to the lady who runs my other disabled group, she liked it and borrowed it and she put it in a frame and entered into an exhibition.
And that drawing of the penguin and the rhino I did before came from pictures from a certain website where people who copy them do not have to worry about copyright laws.
So I can do whatever I wish with that drawing and my tutor has said that I can get a frame for it and sell it. Best to enter it in an exhibition and sell it.
Although thinking about it, there are some people at my local Headway who would probably buy my work :).
My tutor sells her work for around £20-£25, I shall do the same for starters.
Really Matt I wish you all the very best in selling your work. The cash would come in very handy but the appreciation value of your art will give you equal, if not more, satisfaction.
Hi Angelite, i was typing on my iPhone and simply hold the U key down which presents all of the add ins for the letter. Useful for typing the accent on the letter é for example.
Thanks, I suspected you had a more sophisticated device than my laptop ! I did spend a while trying to find a way to do this on my machine but came to the conclusion it was not possible !
Shame, as uber is one of my uber favourite words ! : )) x
I'm guessing you can only do this ü and é and so on, thing with iOS. In other words, Apple related technology. I expect Microsoft will soo catch up, if they haven't already.
Then again, when rival tech companies copy each other in certain ways, they end up suing each other!
I did read once how Apple sued Microsoft at one time.
Wow, that's amazing Matt, I would definitely pay to have this off you for my penguin collection, I'd put it up on my wall in my room after framing it of course, it's really good,
Well I have comfort in selling that picture so I can eventually get that printed, frame it and send you a copy. That is of course if you are willing to buy one.
It may take some time to print out as I don't have a printer... YET.
I would definitely buy a copy of your drawing off you once you get a printer, it just looks amazing and no where near as good as something I could draw
Well, I might order myself a printer today or in the next few days and I can contact you by PM (Private Message) and sort out the exchange of details and payment and so on :).
Have you ever heard the little song 'Yankee Doodle'?
"Yankee Doodle went to town, riding on a pony.
They put a feather in his hat and called him macaroni"
Like a lot of songs, I thought the lyrics were just words that were put together to make a quaint litle jingle :).
Growing up though, it does make more sense. They put a feather in his hat and called him macaroni as in the macaroni penguin.
Like I was saying, macaroni penguins look similar to rockhoppers, they both have the yellow coloured, frilly eyebrows :).
The feather in Yankee's hat represents those eyebrows. I could imagine Yankee Doodle looked similar to Robin Hood then haha.
So the macaroni in the jingle is the macaroni penguin... Unless it refers to pasta haha.
To be honest though, I didn't really know a lot about different species of penguins... Well, different breeds of most animals actually.
I assumed there was one type of penguin and that was it. I had seen these frilly eyebrowed types before but just assumed that was a different kind of look haha.
I know what you mean about the difference in the pictures.
The caricatures were drawn years ago around 2008,09,10 sort of era.
2011 was when I was introduced to graphite pencils and also had an art tutor who has been, and still is, helping me out with my work and as you can see, she has done a fantastic job :).
