Spactacular (off topic)

This was on the thursday night over Sheffield. It was an unbelievable sight and had to share.

I did not take the photo.....infact to be honest I slept through it. Typical the one night I manage a good sleep and I miss this !!!

Yes Paxo I lay in bed with curtains open (about 3am I think) and it really was spectacular. I'd been standing at the window watching a great swathe of sky and there's something really atmospheric about electrical storms at night, probably 'cause of the contrast between the dark................and the shock of the bright lightening.

I'm just down the road from you in Manchester BTW. Sorry you missed it !!

Wow ! I do love a good storm. I like to observe from the safety of my greenhouse/ conservatory . Nature at it's most awesome.

Thunderbolts and lightening, very, very frightening me .....

I'm not that far from Sheffield, and also slept through it...

I do love a good storm, though, a colleague and I stood outside in the deluge that didn't manage to break the heatwave on Wednesday. I think he was smiling at me, standing, breathless, and awe-struck, like a delighted child, but that's OK.

We should be in for another super cell storm tonight. Managed about an hours sleep last night so will probably miss this one tonight. Hope not as I love the power of a storm. Normally sit out in the cool rain watching them...heres hoping .
