Thank you - all sounds very positive and I hope that you are enjoying life in France. Did you attend any groups in Norwich?

I am in Mundesley (NR11). I noticed yesterday that the Norfolk and Waveney branch is just the other side of Norwich (NR3) - I have also made contact with them. do you attend any groups over there?

Thank you so much for sharing this with me I have just watched it and will share it with David when he wakes up. Every little thing I learn helps a little.

You have come such a long way and you seem so very pragmatic about the recovery and the future and it is wonderful to hear the hope. It would be lovely to meet up at some point soon - I think David can learn a lot from others about his day to day frustrations especially those invisible things which others don't see and therefor assume all is well

Thank you again I look forward to seeing you soon.

Hi there - I am Mundesley so not too far away - do you attend any groups in Norwich?

Thanks all for your replies - as you can see from my profile it is my hubby with the brain injury but sounds like he has some things in common with others. I will get back to you properly later we are in the middle of having the house renovated following our move here and it can get very noisy, dusty and tiring during the week in the daytime. Thank you again you have helped me already and that means a lot

We are kings lynn but living in Wisbech as it's easier for my partner to get to work since his brain injury

Thank you for your reply. I came through your area yesterday when dropping my mom off in Peterborough. Most of our family are still back in the Midlands so Peterborough is our halfway meeting point. How does your partner cope with work since the injury? My hubby has not been able to return to his previous role and is just taking up some voluntary work to see how that goes.

My partner was a mechanic his accident was October 2012 he hasn't coped well at work he started going in 3 days a week for 5 hours with 1 hour dinner break and faituged to quickly, at the moment work is non exsistant his boss is very good and has held his job open he's just been given the go ahead to work with a private occupational therapist so hopefully fingers crossed he will get back x

Hi there

It seems to be the way in recovery doesn't it - always ups and downs. Great news that your partner can return to work and that he appears to have an understanding employer who is giving him the opportunity - but it must be frustrating for him not to be able to do what he wants to do as quickly as he wants to do it. My hubby has been putting a lot of work in during renovations, on the plus side he can work alone (which he likes since his injury) but on the down side he tends to over do it and is then frustrated that he is so tired the following day. I hope that the time with the OT helps - please let me know how it goes. My thoughts with you too, the partner is often the forgotten person when it comes to brain injury and there isn't a full recognition of how tough it can be as our lives change beyond recognition too. x

I was a patient at the Colman Hospital in norwich who are great at helping with TBI. i think you need a doctors referral but they have one to one and group sessions there.

Hi, I live in Wroxham, Norfolk. I didn't have a TBI, it was a sub haemorrhage 2 years ago. I shouldn't moan but struggling a little bit - was referred to the Colman Hospital and now waiting for them to contact me again about further sessions. Hi Allsorted, I think we spoke a long time ago - hope things are going well for you and your family, Linda x
