Hi Gisela. Hope the following link helps (regarding vit.B12) ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminB12-QuickFacts/. I take Omega3 fish oil supplement since my SAH, which has helped to ease my joint pain considerably. I'm also hoping that over a long period it might help with concentration and memory issues, & I also take multi-vitamins.

Hi coetzeegisela,

Thanks for your post. Have you spoken to your doctor about possible vitamin deficiency? They may be able to do a blood test to see what the situation is for you - and in any case it's important to let your doctor know of any supplements you are taking.

Some people may be referred to a dietician for specialist advice too, although whether your GP can do this depends on your situation really - it may be worth asking?

Best wishes,

Headway.

I have had excellent results following cleansing programmes supported with supplements. The cleansing programme I used was with The Fisher King Centre - they are renowned as being leaders in their field. There are others out there too - I think Living Foods is one. They have excellent results from a long list of clients. It helped me enormously to improve brain injury symptoms and the negative cycle that resulted in my not healing quickly following my accident. I now am a firm user and believer of the powerful role that nutrition plays in health of any kind.

So, it could be that your body is not able to absorb the vitamins and minerals in your food. I don't wish to alarm you only inform you, but people generally have a build up of colonic plaque which inhibits the actions of the vitamins, minerals and amino acids in your food. If you are, like me, recovering from Brain Injury then I would recommend you talk to an expert. I did and I have never regretted it. I also found from research that when we are healing we might need very large amounts of some substances. If you are interested in my contacts or research then let me know. Good luck!
