Still waiting.....

I had a mild traumatic brain injury in 2002. i tripped of the forks of a fork lift truck and landed on my chin. i might of been out for a couple of seconds and managed to stagger as my emotions drianed to the first aid person. i went to a&e was checked and was taken back to work to finish the day sticking labels on boxes. at the time soon after although verbally abit shook up and distressed felt the same person. i stopped work a few days later and sat at home to recover also in relief i wouldnt have to work long hours for a while. although i probably was in a bad way I could still read a book and apprieciate the story, the feel. that was one day. the following day i felt as though my whole being had been extracted. to where, medically i really dont know, or what happened over those few days. i went to the dr and he said it was shock and was sent for a ct scan which was all ok. if this has been a mild brain injury i dred to think what moderate or severe is. but it seems all symptoms are the same, thought processing and memory. over the past ten years i have just adapted my life to a to b, a-b and still hoped one day i would get my old self back...feel again. it can be an isolating injury to recover from when your not having much fun and am sure psychlogically your mental freedom /view becomes impaired when your stuck in on your own due to chronic fatigue. the ability to takes things in visually rather than head in a thumb screw military style coping. I thought id join this blog to see if there have been any sucess stories or advice as it seems theres quite a few of us in england. probably not counting all the other people that have to cope with disabling illness and injury. life goes on i suppose.
