It is indeed and can be quite unpleasanty at times but there are ways to help manage it. If its a problem for you ask your docs to refer you to a specialist physio

I had this problem, my GP referred me to an EN&T consultant, they cured it with one application( don't think that's the right word but can't think of the right one) of the Eply manoeuvre look it up on the internet you can do it yourself just need someone to help you sit up, had to sleep 3 nights propped up but worth it Good luck Janet

Hello, re the bsspv note. I find it unbearable - no pain as you probably know, but distressing in quantities. I have always been active, and now all seems so 'deranged'. Am doing the 'neuro-physiotherapy'. Expensive, but the space to walk in and on it is worth a weight in a great deal. Do contact again if you wish.

My own GP performed the Eply manoeuver on me many years ago, and when it didn't work I received the treatment from an ENT specialist (still didn't stop dizziness). I was eventually told that my BPV was caused by cervical sponulosis and given a different set of exercises which have helped considerably. I also use Prochlorperazine tablets when it's particularly stubborn.

It can be pretty distressing before it's diagnosed as it comes on for no apparent reason and so suddenly. Hope you're all ok at present. xx
