Hi Mikeila, firstly I am sorry for you and your husband. Stress is very bad for us it's the fight or flight feeling and you obviously feel threatened by the fact that your husband has lost his job and quite rightly so.

Here's a link about anxiety and it may reassure you that how your body is reacting to this stress is quite normal:

helpguide.org/mental/stress...

Then the hard bit is to accept your predicament and focus on the good things in your life and rather than look to far into the future take things one day and one step at a time. And there is always someone who is worse off than us and you and your husband have each other, now that;s worth a lot in my book.

As for food I'd try and eat food that is easy to digest like mashed potatoes or baked potatoes and eat as nutritiously as you can as food made from scratch has far more nutrients than more expensive processed foods and making a nice meal is a very positive thing to do.

That's my 2p's worth and good luck.

Hi Mikeila, Not very comforting in, but, I have also been like this for about 8 weeks now, I have gone lactose free on cheese & margarine or butter spreads, so buy free-from spreads form Sainsbury, Tesco, I buy sainsbury own brand soya milk as this has the leat salt in it,

I have also found that anything with sugar/ fructose in also caused the toilet issue to be very explosive???, I now find that things are getting slightly better, I though I would buy flavoured water, but, found that it was full of sugar, have you spoken to your dietitian and told her what is happening with you, she might have some good suggestions.

I do hope things start to improve for you and your family,

Have you checked to see if you have candida - when eating sugar products symptoms are worse! (I find that peas are upsetting - high sugar content) Now I avoid them. Although candida is not a medically recognised there are a lot of articles and books which state it is a very real condition, you may have a good GP which can test for this if not you need to see a nuitrionist. Ginger products is very settling, Ginger and lemon tea may help

Thank you guys..I'm on lacto-free diet from many months, I buy cheese lacto-free from asda, butter spreads and milk only rice dream..Jerry your right , but I need to find better ways to react when I feel threatened..I'm not good under pressure, I'm running all kind of scenario in my head..and with what is happening a round us :prices going up, no jobs, bills to pay..etc it .is hard to cope ..It is possible to feel low mood just because I'm tired, or I need an explanation ..I don't really know...The Christmas is near and I don't feel like I'm gonna enjoy ..

Could the anxiety itself be a reaction to gluten? Before giving up gluten I became gradually more and more anxious about money/work/life, even when things were fine. I thought this was my personality...

Now that I only have gluten by accident occasionally I notice that at those times I get noticeable anxiety and run things through my head over and over for a few days. The rest of the time I'm now perfectly cheerful, so if I'm randomly worried it's one of the ways I know I've quite likely had some cross-contamination.

Ive been taking vit d and calcium again after a low reading for vit d .

Every time i take it I am anxious the next day.

The only other i reintroduced was a multi b.

I stop both and i am fine, start again and I am anxious feeling apprehensive etc faster heart beat.

I will try intro one at a time see if it helps.

Loath to take any because of the bad feelings.

The vit d is in with the calcium though on prescription, and the b vit is really low.

I googled anxiety and vit d and seems quite a lot suffer the same.

Could be due to low magnesium as vit d uses it up.

Magnesium is good for calming., I take m citrate.

Take a look at your vits we think they are safe but sometimes we need to tweak.

Hope you feel better soon.

Has your GP tested your vitamin levels, deficiency in vitamin D, and many other vitamins/minerals can cause low mood leading to anxiety & stress. If you have been GF for 11 years your GP should be monitoring your vitamin and calcuim levels on a regular basis -If you are taking shop supplements rather than prescription they may not be the correct quantities required for your condition. Also there are some very good books on Cognitive Behavioural Therepy(CBT) - Overcoming anxiety - Helen Kennerley. I hope this helps there are many of us who have gone through this where the anxiety comes and goes.
