Just recently in another topic, somebody mentioned that some of the spices sold by Tesco contains Barley, does anyone know whether this is true or not?
I assume a lot of us use spices to try and make our restricted diets a bit more exciting, although I do know that certain spices don't agree with my sensitive stomach, and I can accept that, but if some might contain Barley, well that's another matter altogether.
I did ask the person to let us all know which spices contain Barley, but I didn't get an answer, so does anyone know if this is true, or not?

Can’t say I’ve come across barley in the spices. Tesco usually quite good for individual herbs and ground spices. I think it’s the branded seasoning packets and ready made mixes got to watch out for re gluten. Just keep reading the allergen labels to check. Seen the label May contain gluten on some or actual wheat starch in the ingredients but usually well labelled.
Personally can’t tolerate too much spices too, and got a specific allergy have to watch out for.
I think in the previous thread, the contributor said that they had found Barley as an ingredient in one of the Tesco spices, and were then concerned about cross contamination issues at the factory level; which is why they had stopped buying Tesco branded herbs and spices. Sorry - I can’t name the actual product though!
