Hi everybody,

This is more for our US members but I still think its important that we know what other Coeliac/celiac organisations are doing and I'm happy to be an active member of GIG even though I live in the UK.

Here's a link to register for the event and its free to register and become a member of GIG. I say good for them for organising this and with Hidden 's post about another online mini conference it shows what's going on in the US.

Here's the registration link, please see:

Fab. We need more of these on our home ground in UK. The silence on coeliac public events and conferences on this side of the big pond is deafening.

I agree Ben as they are very motivated and that inspires others. They’ve teamed up with Cutting costs for celiac which helps celiac on a low income buy GF food which I applaud. Here’s a link to their events this year as this is the third virtual event this year:

I think that we are lucky that we have a global online community for coeliac and we can learn from each other on here.

Well said. The online community is a life saver.

That’s interesting that they’re looking at the future and future diagnosis for coeliac.

I’m not aware of any virtual events involving coeliac who can just register to join in in the U.K. which’s a shame as this would engage with coeliac.

I’m not a member of Coeliac U.K. as they do not represent me or my dietary needs as they appear to have no interest in coeliac who cannot tolerate Codex products and in my experience put their stakeholders needs first.

So I see them as a big corporation that hides behind charity status and I don’t see the point in engaging with them only to be ridiculed by non coeliac who want to turn a profit with allowed levels of gluten.

I haven’t been a member of their organisation for 20 years and manage my diet better without them or their low gluten food lists. So it’s my choice to be a disenfranchised U.K. coeliac.

I’d like to see a real coeliac charity in the U.K. that puts coeliac before profits,

I whole heartedly agree with you about Coeliac UK.

Just to check Jerry, the event is 4 pm BST today. Hope you are well.

Did you try going gluten free before your celiac diagnosis?

First of all, sorry for posting without a diagnosis. I am in another community here (breast cancer)...

How gluten free should gluten free be?

This is not as daft as it sounds because we can not measure zero gluten we can not guarantee that...
