Is it definitely Omeprazole and not Lansoprazole? I didn't realise they did Omeprazole in 10mg - I started on 20mg and so has everyone else I know who is on them

Lansoprazole OTOH - a big YES in answer to your question - I also get an upset tummy if I double up on my Omeprazole for a couple of days (my script is actually 40mg but I tend to stick to 20 most of the time) - but Lansoprazole - HORRIBLE

Hope you get it sorted

Thanks for your reply Swarthy it is omerprazole 10mg, the idea was to see how I went with them I have the answer to that!

Hi Mike, Omeprazole is magnesium based and magnesium is used as a laxative. And because it reduces stomach acid in the gut is a secondary reason that can cause the runs. You may find that after a few days your gut settles down and it's worth asking your Dr about it.

This is a really simplified explanation but proton pump inhibitors have come up before for this reason.

Yes ive had the same and the GP said there are different ones to try. I felt awful on them. My issues with acid were temporary thankfully.
