I have recently returned from a holiday all inclusive at the Marharba Hotel, Sousse, Tunisia. I took 5 kilo's of extra luggage (medical supplies, ie food) never used any of it. The food laid out in the restaurant was all buffet style. I had no problems but for one evening when burgers were being grilled (not knowing the ingredients I left alone but never starved). Otherwise I ate, not one piece of "GF" labelled to be seen. Only issue being smokers everywhere. I can recommend for coeliiac's.

Holidays.............

I had a wonderful holiday in Tunisia, at Port el Kantaoui just south of Sousse. The hotel was run on the same lines with buffet meals and lots and lots of fruit. Meat and fish all cooked from scratch with no added breadcrumbs or batter - it was all so easy!
Tunisia is a really good destination for coeliacs (Morocco is similar).
Have to say, you were lucky! When on all inclusive in Mauritius, I decided trying to communicate about wheat in every dish was too tricky, so opted for simple grilled fish/chicken etc and salads from the buffet......oh dear! The coleslaw, I discovered, was bulked out with little bits of pasta and I don't know what else was hidden, but my guts told me all was not well! Then my joints got inflamed and the pain meant sleepless nights. It's taken weeks to get over! My solution? Don't think I'll go all inclusive again as they probably re-use/bulk out etc to make the budget work. Greece was easy last year (not all inclusive) because you could see what you were eating. Also, Morocco is pretty good as tagines are usually wheat free.
"tagines are usually wheat free" but sadly the couscous isn't. (But GF couscous is now available in supermarkets here - Yay!!!)
Is Morocco pretty good? I was thinking of going back to Marrakech (one of my favourite places) but thought that eating out would be risky - I'm a vegetarian coeliac (or coeliac vegetarian) - and I'm not sure how well I would be able to get the message across. I'm not sure that I'd be able to eat in Jamaa el Fna - but nay recommendations gratefully received.
