Can anyone explain the connection between cancer & gluten?
Hi Demetriosus
Sorry to hear about your mum. There seems to be a connection between coeliac disease and some forms of cancer, like bowel cancer. I'm afraid I don't know anything else, apart from what I've found out on the internet.
Coeliac disease is related to EATL which is a small intestine/stomach cancer.
Probably the best thing for can do for your Mum is ensure she eats a full diet of nourishing foodstuffs. If she's a coeliac she will know it and already be on a gluten free diet. Taking grains away unnecessarily won't enhance her health as they are very nutritious for 'normal' people.
Accompany her on any hospital visits if she wants the company. Keep her stress levels down and be kind. Often we are so desperate to find a cure for our family that we inflict unnecessary stuff on them.
Hi Demetriosus, I'd also like to say how sorry I am to hear about your mum.
Here's another link about coeliac and cancer and it's interesting that they say that diagnosed ladies have a lower incidence of breast cancer:

And good luck to you and your mum,
