Got the results of my first yearly check today at hospital. Gluten free diet working! Villi has returned to normal, biopsies fine and blood all normal. When I was first diagnosed last September was lost. Thankfully I found this site and when I posted questions received lots of advice. Thank you all I couldn't have done it without you

Is it normal to have a check yearly after diagnosis? I was diagnosed 3 years ago and never had anything but a "voluntary" session with a dietician. No bloods etc.

Thats great news. I am 8 months into the diet and sometimes find it hard, but am getting there. Started cooking my own cakes and pies etc with mix from prescription, but so far no weight gain, but was told by my clinic it can takeup to two years to repair, so fingers crossed. Goodluck

Haydn74 where do you live? I see you need a prescription to make cakes and pies, please explain

Hi. Mocadr.. Sorry if youy misunderstood, I put it down wrong. What I meant was that I make all my recipes from the Glutafin White all Purpose Mix I have on prescription from my doctor. I also get pasta, bread, crackers . I get Fibre Flake cereal also, but they come from the firm Juvela, another prescription firm. Hope that makes it clearer!
