Hi Jane, thanks for your post.I and my wife now travel by train for non local journeys and I have been using the disabled rail card since 2011, which I do recommend. It makes travelling to and from review and MRI scan appointments at the Christie Hospital in Manchester a lot less stressful. It may take longer on occasions, but is far better than being stuck in rush hour traffic. We have used the disabled rail card to book rail journeys for holidays in the UK and our tours around Europe between 2011-2014 were all by train. To use an old BR slogan, 'let the train take the strain'.
