I have to have a test at Specsavers for the DVLA. Not happy about this as I have not had good experiences with them before. I had a eye test with them and they said everything was fine, within a few weeks I was in hospital admitted as an emergency for acute angle closure glaucoma and had to have laser treatment as a matter of urgency. The signs were there and not oicked up. I am concerned that they will be no better at a VFT. Can anyone reassure me?

Hi not sure where you are in Cornwall but I have had two dvla tests done three years apart at the Camborne Specsavers. They have been really kind and helpful and give you time in a quiet room to do the tests. Not all Specsavers are authorised to do the tests, so it might not be your nearest one - I think I was offered a choice of three in Cornwall.
Hi there, I’m an old hand at the DVLA test!! Since I am so old that I’ve done the test 5 times in the last 12 years! First of all the important misses are in the horizontal line and near the centre. Look up the government DVLA test web page. This will explain it all. I always ask for a copy of all my test results, so that I can compare to previous years. Did you get a copy. Specsavers are legally obliged to give you them, but only if you ask! I took my last test in mid July this year and had my new licence within 3 weeks. From this forum I have learnt that results are currently 4-6 weeks from the test. DVLA tend to look at the 2 best test results and if the misses are not bunched together, then give a shorter licence. Good luck I know how stressful waiting can be!
