Vitrectomy

Due to a membrane growing across the retina a surgeon has written and suggested that I should be added to the waiting list for a vitrectomy.

Although I had an appointment to see a surgeon last week he was ill ,but I did have the usual tests. Sadly then unable to ask any questions . The surgeon ,who I have never seen, will phone me in January, but it would be interesting to hear from anyone who has had a vitrectomy for an epiretinal membrane.

I have had two Preserflo microshunts for glaucoma , the right eye was operated on 3 years ago and the left 4 months later, both seem successful. Two opticians have been very wary of another op because of added risk. I suppose it depends on how much it bothers me and how much worse it may become.

Has anyone had a similar dilemma ? if so it would be very helpful to hear from you.

Best wishes
