High IOP after removal of ICL lens. Dilemma…

Hi all, I am facing high IOP on my left eye after removal of ICL Lens 2 months back. Reason of removal due to Inflammation on the said eye. Reoccurrence of inflammation for entire 6-7 months during the lens is planted in both my eye so decided to remove it.

Now my left eye pressure fluctuating between 20-30 range. I have consulted few glaucoma specialist in my country Malaysia. Some asked me to go for Tube surgery and some asked me to try laser. Meanwhile my right eye pressure is doing good below 20 (between 15-20) range.

The IOP on my left eye is high due to my drainage is clogged with iris pigments that produced during the lens is in my eye. So now the pigments is clogging the drainage of left eye. Anyone experienced this? Mind to share any solution towards it?

Meanwhile I’m now on 4 types of glaucoma eye drops. Cosopt, alphagan, glanatec & eybelis, but the pressure still ups and down. The pressure will still be around 20-30 range even without any eye drops (I tried it for few days recently), so I stopped the drops. During daytime the pressure will be around 25 plus minus. (I got myself an iCare home tonometer, so I know the readings from time to time).

I’m now on dilemma which option should I opt for. Is SLT effective towards my scenario? Or u should continue to monitor for another 2-3 months and get more consultant’s opinion before proceed for any surgery / laser. As I’m so worried into going to any surgery.

So far all my optic nerve and Oct scan is doing good. Before ICL I don’t have any pressure or glaucoma issues. It’s due to this ICL lens that caused the pressure to raise now for me left eye.

Anyone experiences the same scenario before and willing to share? This issue really affected my life seriously….😭🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲

Hello,

As you are on the maximum of eyedrops, your consultant has to look at other options, being laser or surgery. Surgery normally last 2-3 years and can be repeated. Surgery can last alot longer. Your concerns should really be discussed with your consultant.

Ya I am on maximum eye drops. Or maybe can plan to reduce it with my consultant.

Alphagan P makes my vision blurry too🤦🏻‍♂️. Might try to discuss for laser surgery. What you meant above is laser surgery normally if success last for 2-3 years right?

For those tube surgery I am really scared for the operation. As I read online there is 20-30% of failure chances and a lot of complications might occur after the surgery.🤦🏻‍♂️

Before this ICL operation I have healthy eyes. It’s one of the most regretted things I made in my life to insert the ICL lens……

Now I’m just hoping can find a lower risk procedures to reduce the IOP in my eye..
