Some time ago there was a discussion about swimming goggles. I would like to go swimming at my local indoor pool. Ladt time I wore well fitting goggles but got conjunctivitis anyway🥲…which are the well fitting goggles that people use? I do not need prescription ones. Thanks

I use Sutton swimwear Reef goggles as they have large lenses and a double strap, but I swim in the sea and having had a trab I only do breast stroke now, no head in the water.

Thanks a lot. I will order some. One more question. I spoke to RNIB about this and they said the problem is that if the goggles are too tight/snug it may affect the pressure, which obviously has to be weighed up. Do you think this is an issue?

I think probably any fitted goggles aren’t that good for your eyes, but as these kind of fit over your whole eye socket a bit more rather than just your eye itself they are probably better than most. It’s all a balance with your eyes I think, but swimming makes me feel so good I couldn’t give it up.

I use the large goggles similar to the snorkelling goggles, but made for swimming…bought through Amazon. Hope that helps.

I have used Aquasphere goggles for several years now as I have trabs in both eyes. They fit well and do not put pressure on my eyeballs. I actually have two pairs, one with tinted lenses for swimming in the sea and one with plain lenses for the pool. They are also available on Amazon.

Thanks so much everyone, that is really helpful. I have torn a ligament in my foot which is healing but swimming would be such good exercise and have been avoiding it
