hi, i have glaucoma surgery with preserflo, 23 days ago, after 20 days my vision was back almost as before the surgery, the bluryness was gone and i was able to focus on text also, now 2 days ago i got the stitches removed from the eye and i noticed that the vision worsened almost as the first week after surgery, having problem with foccs, the next appointment with my surgeon is after 3 weeks, and he said after 2 weeks from now i can go back to work, but if the vision will still be like that would be almost impossible to work at pc.
Anyone had similar experience after stitches removed?

I would suggest you contact your consultant asap to make them aware of what you are experiencing. If you cannot contact them, please visit the A & E or if your hospital has a walk in eye clinic, go there.
Just to say I visited A&E a while back after feeling something was off almost a year after my Preserflo procedure.
Just to reiterate you need to ensure the hospital has a dedicated eye unit, not just an A&E department, as they have no specialist eye knowledge. After waiting for 6 hours and a quick eye test/IOP check I was told there were no issues, only to receive a call the following day saying there had been a mistake and I needed to go back.
I opted instead for a referral to my usual eye clinic where I was diagnosed with an infection and treated with antibiotics.
I know from experience it can take a while for your eye to settle after surgery and again after stitches are removed as they can pull your eye out of shape, and your brain needs to adjust for a second time.
I’m sure with time your eyesight will return to normal, as mine did. As Trish suggested if you are concerned you can request an earlier hospital appointment, just to put your mind at rest.
I had ongoing focus issues with my operated eye for a while after the stitches were removed. In my case it seems the eye had become lazy through non-use and through favouring my good eye. I forced it back into use by doing things with my good eye closed whenever safe to do so and that seemed to get it focussing better again. I also played around with switching lenses from different strengths of cheap reading glasses with the same frame design so that both eyes were in focus when reading. After a few weeks the operated eye came fully back to focussing properly again and I could use reading glasses with the same strength lens in each eye again as normal.
thanks everyone for sharing your experience after stitches removal, i don’t think could be because of the eye become lazy, because for the other eye i lost 70% of eyesight and also had trabeculectomy so the eye with preserlo is my good eye, i’m worried that i won’t be able to come back to work in 10 days as the doctor said after he removed the stitches, and the fact that the day before removing the stitches i was able to read easily ,and the day after not.
I will update the post in case someone else is facing the same issues.
i think i will wait some more days to see if there will be any improvememt, then if there’s not, i will go back to have the eye checked, he said that would be normal to have some issues focusing, but i don’t think so big issues, also because after stitches removed , he told me to wait 30 minuts and then checked again the eye.
Made me feel better knowing that some of you had this problem that was solved with time, after stitches removed my iop was 6, if the problem is not solved by next week, when i go to get the eue checked i will ask the surgeon if is because of the eye pressure as frank said
An IOP of 6 is still quite low; hopefully by the time of your next appointment pressure will have raised. Anything under 3 or more than 21 would maybe be cause for concern, although the ideal IOP is of course different for everyone, but I think in your case it’s just a matter of time.
I too only have vision in one eye and had to adjust once back at work, so can understand your concern. I just wanted everything to get back to normal ASAP.
I think this is the hardest part of recovery, along of course with the million and one eye drops!
Hi alexcbz, I had presserflo surgery in my right eye in September last year. My vision was normal soon after the surgery. I wear vaifocal glasses. After about 3 months of the surgery, I found myself struggling to read subtitles any writings on TV. My consultant said my eye is healing well and all is well. He advised me to have eye test done for my prescription glasses. To my horror my prescription for right eye for distant vision went up from - 5.5 to -6,5. And i still have two stiches in. Now I have to have new glasses. I am in waiting list for the surgery in left eye, but I am not so sure whether to go for it, having secon thought.
