Small area of swelling, lower lid

Hi all. I’m newly diagnosed with NTG and haven’t yet had chance to discuss with a specialist as he was off sick so wondered if anyone here can help. I noticed a small, 1 cm area of swelling on my lower lid. Have been using monoprost for 2 months only. Is this usual? Is it blocked glands? Is this why you can get dry eyes? It’s not painful, just tender to the touch.

I have a very helpful pharmacist in my local Boots who has called me twice to check that I’m managing ok with the drops (great service) but she could give no advice re this apart from try to contact the eye infirmary which is impossible. Many thanks.

Hello. It could be what they call a meibomian cyst, which is a blocked oil tear gland. I of course can't be sure but your GP should be able to help with advise of what to do, if it is.
