I wish that I knew. I have Glaucoma in BOTH EYES but a CATARACT in the RIGHT ONE and the BLUR drives me MAD - I am also being driven out of a house I have lived in since I was 18 and thinking of going into one of these places with a WARDEN just in the hope that the warden will put my eye drops in for me as I am unable to do it myself so they get put in once a week when my shopping lady comes to do my heavy shopping for me. The Consultant has requested that a DISTRICT NURSE comes and the GP has refused this request. Also can someone tell me how to put my own QUESTIONS on here as I am not much good with a computer. Thank you

Realised your post didn't get answered Lizzyanne. I just had a cataract op in my left eye this week. The difference is incredible and everything is so bright and clear now.

I think it developed quite quickly as it wasn't much of an issue a couple of years ago. But I started struggling with both glare and blurriness and would have had to give up driving soon as I've very little left in my other eye. I also developed dry eye in the last year or two which can cause blurry vision as well. Do you have issues with glare as well as blur?

Hi whitedogI have Primary Angle Closure and had a iridotomy last September which opened up the angles but my pressures are still too high (around 24 in both eyes)I've had cataracts and dry eyes for about 3 years,my consultant said I will need cataract surgery in the near future as it can bring pressure down quite a bit I don't get glare but do get blurry vision and I've noticed my distance vision is not so good now.

How long were you on the waiting list for surgery.

By the way have you tried a heated eye mask they are very good for dry eyes .

My surgery date was a couple of months after my consultant agreed to book me in for it. When I was seen last summer, they didn't think it was ready for surgery as not 'on the axis'. It started above my eyelid so must have got a move on.

Yes I've been using an eye bag but not every day. I got the blephabag and some dry eye wipes for convenience. I might use it more now I don't have to use a contact lens.

My eye's still quite sensitive to light - I just drove down to a dentist appt and it feels really achy now and not as clear as yesterday.

I have got an appointment to see my consultant in 3 weeks time,I hope it's to discuss cataract surgery as I just want to get it over and done with,I have very narrow angles and consultant said it would need doing soon,it frightens me though as I only have one good eye

That was my fear too, being blind in the other. And my consultant would have preferred me to wait until it was absolutely necessary, I think. But that would have meant me giving up driving - and work - meantime while it got worse and worse, so I pleaded my case.

I was worried about coming out of the op 'blind' as previously, they've used an injection and put a shield over the eye after. But this time they just used drops to numb the eye and no shield needed which meant I could actually see, albeit blurry, straight after. And thankfully, all went well. Was very relieved for it to be over.

Here is a video that explains an easy way to do eye drops for yourself. youtube.com/watch?v=KJjxRxo...

It explains how they do it with kids. Lie on the bed, or just put your head back. Close your eye. Put the drop in the corner by your nose. When it is there, open that eye and slowly start blinking so that the liquid goes into your eye. Wait a while, then do the other eye. Best of luck.

Thank you but I will only have them in if someone puts them in for me. I have had nothing and nobody since my mam died in 2011 and now I have offended the POWERS THAT BE WHO RUN THIS SET UP so I am thinking of leaving and I shall find my own solutions to this GLAUCOMA - my gran told me she was leaving me her wedding ring when she died - she failed to mention that she was also leaving me her Glaucoma in her WILL
