Glaucoma due to prolonged steroid use

My partner got glaucoma when they forgot to tell him to discontinue his steroid drops during the pandemic. He had trab surgery and his pressure is now excellent. Our question is does this mean he no longer has glaucoma or is it now a lifelong condition? Anyone know? (Just one eye was ever involved.)

From what I understand once you have Glaucoma you always have it but lower pressure prevents any damage progressing.

Unfortunately glaucoma is non-reversible and considered progressive. Lowering eye pressure is intended to stabilise it; sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I've had trabs in both eyes - one eye is stable at the moment, the other not and sight loss progressing. Sorry if this sounds a bit negative but I think the more knowledge one has about the condition the better and one can do everything possible to stop progression. Hope this is helplful rather than pessimistic.
