Well a trabeculectomy won’t improve your vision. It would only help stop your vision in that eye deteriorating even more. What are your reasons for not wanting it? I had it done on my right eye 2 years ago. Eye hospital wanted me to have it done on left eye. I went to a private consultant to get a second opinion.

I had a trabeculectomy and lens replacement combined op, on my right eye 10 months ago and my pressures have been great so far. I already had approx 30% damage to my optic nerve so the trab has helped to stop that damage increasing. I'm 39.

I had a trab 2 weeks ago I’m hopping in just cause I’m still freaking out over the op ( side effects) I have a little pool in my Trab eye ( apparently this is normal my specialist says it’s the bleh drainage) I have a little pain taking Panadol which kinda helps . When do u feel better after a trab? And when can u go back to normal activity like say bending over ? Or is that a forever no bending over thing ? And Like when do the side effects were off I’m not sure how much optic nerves are damaged in my eye can’t remember statistics but last pressure was 18 this was 2 weeks ago I got covid so haven’t been able to go back for regular checkups which is increasing my anxiety about it . Still have stitches in eye and the cornia is still inflamed ( I got a red ring a bit on the surface of operation eye ) not sure on the vision aspect straight after op I couldn’t see as well as I normally do in operation eye could only see top line .big X nothing else . My special was happy with pressure thou as mine has been high 30s for some time it’s very scary stuff with what the eyes are doing

Hi, I don’t remember having much pain after my trab. It was 2 to 3 weeks before eyesight was clear again. My left eye was good so didn’t notice the fuzziness in my op eye. I think we are all different and react differently. Sight should start getting back to normal after 2 weeks. I was cautious about bending for the first few weeks but then probably started to do normal activities. ( which at my age wasn’t very strenuous) I think you should be having a follow up with your specialist. I would ask for an appointment.
