Private Opthalmologist - Bristol/South Wales Area

Hi all,

Just wondering if anybody has any recommendations for a Private Opthalmologist in the Bristol/South Wales Area.

I am under the care of the Bristol Eye Hospital, who overall has been excellent. However I'd like (if affordable) to speak to another doctor to get another view on my glaucoma/treatment plan. I've a long life journey ahead and I'd like to get as much information as possible. Some times I feel so rushed at the BEH which is not their fault as they are so busy.

Hi, I am in Bristol and also under the Eye Hospital and feel exactly like you. The eye hospital can be a bit chaotic and they don’t have time to explain things. I see Jeremy Diamond, who did my Trab op last year. He is based now out towards Filton. In my experience with Glaucoma the treatment plan is always focussed on reducing eye pressures. But at least with Jeremy there is time to talk things through and he explain things clearly. Plus doing the field tests is more relaxed and less stressful. I would love to find a Glaucoma specialist who takes a more wholistic approach.

Thank you for your recommendation, I will look Mr Diamond up and see if he is suitable. It would just be good to get another opinion on the direction that my glaucoma is going. Have a great Christmas
