I'm a 69 y/o female taking Lumigan eye drops for dx of Glaucoma suspect and IOP (took Latanoprost drops previously but my pressure was increasing a bit so changed drops). My pressures have been pretty consistent at 17 in both eyes, so I feel pretty lucky right now. I had a S/P LPI procedure in 2012 (I call these my safety tunnels!) and the "holes" continue to be open. I anticipate an eventual diagnosis of Glaucoma (my father, both paternal grandparents, one sister, and one niece have Glaucoma dx) and that worry is always in the back of my mind.

I use Refresh Celluvisc PF gel drops during the night as needed, Systane PF drops during the day as needed, and use either the Bruder or Thermalon eye mask (with Bruder eye sheets to help keep the moisture in) twice daily. I'm "dealing" with the dry eyes and Blepharitis (use Optase eyelid cleansing wipes as needed to get rid of the gunk).

My question: a result of the Rx drops has been a darkening under my eyes and on my eyelids (I do the punctual occlusion after applying my Rx drops). I want to identify a good under eye concealer that won't irritate my eyes, and also a good eye shadow. Both are to lighten my eye area to reduce the "raccoon effect". I'd appreciate any ideas on products that are safe for the eye area. I don't want to mask the darkness and have the result of increased eye irritation. Thanks in advance for any ideas. I'm currently using Ilia products and they are okay but not great.

hi Debbi, I’m on two different drops per day. I use Bobbi Brown concealer and eyeshadow sticks - they’re like a crayon so you “draw on” the colour. No reactions at all to either so very happy with both. Good luck!

I’ve never used Bobbi Brown and I know that Nordstrom carries it and they’re really good about taking time with you to figure out what you need. I appreciate your response; sometimes asking about make up when there’s all the other serious diagnostic stuff going on seems a bit vain, but it’s important for me to not go around with that sunken eye look! 😂

if you go to Boots, one of their Beauty team can help you find and try products from across all of the makeup ranges they offer. My advice would be to choose a big store and a quiet time. I use a Bobbi Brown stick eyeshadow and mascara, Clinique quickliner and Optase Life Sensitive Eye makeup remover.

You’re the second person that has mentioned Bobbi Brown so I definitely need to check out that line! I’ve not heard of boots, maybe it’s only in the UK? I’ve not had good luck with Sephora or Ulta, probably they’re more interested in selling me products? But thank you so much for the Bobbi Brown suggestion, much appreciated! 💃🏻

and, FWIW, I think it’s really important to still wear make-up if it contributes to us feeling good about ourselves! I plan to make the most of my Glaucoma-drug-induced long eyelashes for as long as I can! 😉

Yes! The long lashes are definitely a bonus!! I rarely wear mascara now. And thanks for the feeling good reminder 😀

Hi Marocean

I am 61, use Lantanoprosteye drops and have the dark circles and very fair skin and on the positive side dark longer eyelashes compared to the blond stubby ones I used to have

I use YSL Touche eclat. It is more liquid than a crayon so doesn’t drag on the skin and has little brush on the dispenser. I use it on my eye lids as well as under the eye. It seems to work for me. No adverse reactions.
