Hello, does anyone suffer from pigmentary glaucoma? I am keen to have a chat with people in general, but also around my age and get some tips on how you are managing it. I’m a 33 male.
Also I know this has been discussed a few times recently, but has anyone invested in a home tonometer who has this condition, does anyone know if it’s generally worth while?
I was diagnosed early this year and prescribed latanoprost, which brought my pressure down from 23 to 16/17, however I have had some progression which my consultant thinks is due to IOP spikes. He has just added timolol which I started last night, so hopefully that brings my pressure down to around 13, my target IOP.
Thanks in advance,
Jon

Sorry I do not know about Pigmentary glaucoma, but there will be a digital webinar about it on 20 th October at 10 am. Sometimes it is possible to ask questions at these sessions and they are extremely helpful.
If you look up GlaucomaUK digital webinars....then you can read about the webinar and register for it.
If you miss it then they are repeated about 2 weeks later ..again you can find it on the charities website.
Meanwhile if no one can help on the forum , you could try the Helpline....01233 64 81 70, always very good information.
Hi Jon, I’m 49 and have pigment dispersion (krukenbergs) and high ocular pressure but no glaucoma.
I’ve been on monopost for over a year but my pressures have been sitting at around 24 recently so after a lot of research I am booked in for SLT in November. I haven’t really looked into a home tonometer, I think it would make me obsess if was to check too often!
Have you discussed SLT with anyone? I believe it is often the first line of treatment now especially when you’re younger. I have had reservations in the past (& of course it may not work) but it is treated much more gently on patients with pigment dispersion (and at 180 degrees rather than 360) as pigment absorbs the light energy more readily. Hope this helps…
