Oh bless you. Try not to remember that whilst it is a progressive disease the fact they follow us all up is so they can adapt treatment to keep things under control and that's the best way to prevent sight lost. There are various drops and combinations of drops, laser and surgical options nowadays. I'd recommend watching some of the Glaucoma UK webinars as they are very informative and I think reassuring. There are two take home messages I've got from them. The first is that if glaucoma is caught early, it's rare to lose sight these days and the second is even where a disease is vey advanced there is always something they can do.

much the same for me. There are other add-on drops you can be given and then other treatments usually starting with laser surgery which is a painless out patient procedure. There are then several further levels of surgical procedures, depending on the severity. As efabear says....you'll be followed up closely and intervention will occur when necessary. Just keep doing what you are advised to do and hopefully you'll retain your visual fields for many years to come.

Remember also that treatment is improving all the time. There will have already been positive developments since you were first diagnosed 10 years ago.

Hi. I agree with everyone else here; I always try to be positive as I think that's half the battle, your glaucoma was diagnosed early, your consultant is monitoring your condition and meds and it's a slowly developing ailment so time is definitely on your side.My motto is just to do as I'm told by my consultant and his team. Glaucoma UK has many tips and advice. Good luck.

Thanks so much all of you.. that really helped
