Hey all!

Just a heads up from Glaucoma UK HQ that we are running the above digital glaucoma support group on May 19th at 7pm. Our speaker will be Professor Azuara-Blanco, Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Queens University in Belfast. Professor Azuara-Blanco is highly experienced in dealing with complex glaucoma and following his presentation, you will have an opportunity to ask him questions. As always, it is free to attend but you will need to register! You can do so on the link below

If you are planning to come along and have any questions in advance, please feel free to email them to me on p.mason@glaucoma.uk

Hope to see you there!

Philippa can’t believe how well timed this is! Thank you so much! I have bilateral pseudoexfoliation, my pressure especially in my left eye is now going up quickly. I’ve had three eye clinic visits since Feb and on Monday it was 31, I have now been referred for an emergency cataract operation within the coming month. I was told to read up as much as I can as there are real risks to this procedure for me, so timing couldn’t be better!

Im so glad we can offer timely assistance and thanks for your questions. The Professor says 'excellent questions and he will try and include as many of them in his talk as he can'. Best wishes Sunshine8888!

Hello Sunshine8888.

I too have recently joined this website as I have Pseudoexfoliation Syndrome with Glaucoma (steroid induced) and have just noted your post.

I do hope all went well with your cataract surgery albeit a year ago. I had my cataracts done with PEX and it went well in 2017.

I was wondering whether Professor Azura-Blanco had posted a paper of his presentation of this complex syndrome online? I would be interested to read it.

I do hope you don’t mind my contacting you. It’s does seem a rare syndrome - my GP hadn’t heard of it and the Glaucoma consultant asked if I had any Vikings in my genealogy! 😂 Best Wishes. 🌺
