Thanks for sharing.

The video mentioned that beta blocker like timolol is effective at day time, not as effective at night time. It can lower blood pressure and may impact perfusion, not good for the eye.

I am now on two eye drops, Simbrinza (Azopt+Brimonidine) twice for day time, and Ganfort (Bimatoprost+Timolol) once for night time. I am also told I am on maximum drops already.

It appears to be a standard prescription by NHS, but to have Ganfort at night time seems to be not good according to the video. I am having some vision loss in this year. I am not sure if using timolol at night can be a reason for that. Wonder if there can be other arrangement by doctor for the eyedrops prescribed.

Hi Iswk

I too use Ganfort - prescribed in 2018 - previous to that Lumigan (Bimatoprost) for seven years. When given the Lumigan I was told by the specialist to use at night time then when I changed to Ganfort no one said what was the best time to use so I carried on putting the drops in at 10 pm. After watching the video I looked at the Patient Information Sheet and it does say on there to use either in the morning or in the evening and always at the same time.

As my pressures have remained stable with the Ganfort and I get my eyes checked every six months I have decided to continue with the 10pm. But I will keep in mind what was said on the video and maybe change to an earlier time if I think it beneficial.

I you`re worried about your vision might be best to get it checked.

I never find this guy very reassuring! I feel like he always tells you the bad side of everything. He always makes me feel worse & more anxious 😂. Also he’s based in America and the medical profession there is very different to the UK I think.
