I have had vaginal swabs which found aspergillus present, has anyone heard of this?
Aspergillus may be found in warm moist areas of our bodies, and it will also be found in our clothing so there is a possibility that spores could be transferred to our genitalia. Once there they will be quickly removed by our normal bodily cleaning processes - the presence of Aspergillus in this case may well be just such a short term exposure or may be the result of contamination at the diagnostics laboratory or when taking the sample as it floats in the air all around us - even in doctors surgeries!
There are very rare cases of vaginal infection with aspergillus (see ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl... but they have been in patients with other severe health problems.
It is certainly worth ruling out all possibilities and it sounds like your doctors are doing that.
